WASHINGTON – National Farmers Union (NFU) President Rob Larew today gave the following statement regarding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin’s decision to uphold the April 28, 2025, implementation date for the year-round sale of E15 in Midwestern states:

“Administrator Zeldin’s announcement is a welcome reassurance to corn growers and ethanol producers in the Midwest. Expanding access to E15 and higher blends year-round strengthens the American biofuels economy, giving farmers new market opportunities while delivering lower fuel costs and greater choice for consumers.

“Family farmers and ranchers outside the Midwest also look for federal guidance to build year-long E15 and higher blends markets. NFU was proud to endorse the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act re-introduced in the Senate, as well as in the House of Representatives. We urge Congress to act swiftly to pass this critical legislation, ensuring stronger, more reliable biofuels markets and a more sustainable future for rural communities.”
