WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued its 2021, 2022, and 2023 renewable volume obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) SET proposal. As proposed, the new standards raise volumes moving forward.

A strong proponent of biofuels for their economic and environmental benefits, NFU is calling the increased standards for future years a way to move the program forward.

“As the administration is working to address climate change, we’ve long known that biofuels will play an important role in reducing greenhouse gases while having the added benefit of providing expanded opportunities for farmers,” said NFU President Rob Larew. “Today’s announcement is welcome news, and we want to thank EPA for their continued support of family farmers. Moving forward, we encourage the EPA to look at continued growth in advanced biofuels.”
