WASHINGTON – Following a petition from eight Governors requesting year-round sales of higher blends of ethanol, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today announced the approval of year-round E15, in those states, beginning in 2025.
“While this announcement should have come much earlier, year-round E15 is great news for farmers and consumers alike,” said NFU President Rob Larew. “As we confront the seriousness of climate change and take immediate steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, measures like the one announced today will have a positive impact for the environment, all while providing stronger and more consistent markets for family farmers. We urge EPA to take additional action to allow consumers to use E15 this summer. While E15 is a step in the right direction, we continue to advocate for E30, which provides additional carbon reductions and engine optimization.”
