Miriam Goertzen-Regier | Kansas

Miriam is a fifth-generation Kansas farmer, raising wheat, grain sorghum, and soybeans in a no-till system that incorporates cover crops and grazing. She also works on her parents' farm and as cheesemaker for Grazing Plains Farm. After college she volunteered for four years in Indiana, Arizona, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where her work included coordinating a food pantry/teaching garden and working on a small, highly-diversified farm alongside people recovering from addiction. These experiences brought her back to Kansas with goals of connecting people to each other, growing good food, and building healthy soils and ecosystems in the process. Miriam and her husband Ryan hope to someday combine their agricultural pursuits on a farmstead of their own.
