Patty Edelburg was most recently elected to serve as the Vice President of the National Farmers Union at the 116th Annual Convention.
Edelburg was appointed to serve as the Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director in April 2016. She also served as a member of the Wisconsin Farm Service Agency State Committee from 2010-2016 and has played an instrumental role in the implementation of programs across the Wisconsin as a result of the 2014 Farm Bill.
Prior to her appointment as State Executive Director, Patty has held a variety of leadership positions in various organizations. She has served on the Wisconsin Farmers Union Board of Directors for 12 years. Was the WFU Vice President for 4 years as well. Patty had also served as the the Secretary/Treasurer of the Wisconsin District 4 Holstein Association Board of Directors, and President of the Portage County Holstein Board of Directors. Most recently she has helped start 2 new grassroots organizations. A local farmer led watershed group focusing on utilizing practices to reduce nitrates in ground water. The other is a national organization focusing on getting more elected officials talking about rural issues.
Edelburg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science with a dairy emphasis and business option.
Patty and her husband Gary own and operate a dairy farm milking 130 registered Holsteins. 150 youngstock and farm 350 acres of corn and alfalfa in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin.
When they aren’t busy on the farm, Patty and Gary are involved in school, 4-H, community, and state and county fair activities with their high school twins, Angela and Lucas.
