Katie Welch

Intern

Katie Welch was selected as one of two interns for the Fall 2018 semester. During her time in Washington, Katie helped with NFU’s Congressional Fall Fly-in, created social media content for the Local Food Safety Collaborative, assisted in community outreach for education programs, and performed administrative duties.

Katie was interested in working at NFU because of her interest in agriculture advocacy. She has greatly enjoyed learning from knowledgeable professionals and gaining proficient skills that will help her in her future career.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism from Texas A&M University in May of 2018. While at Texas A&M, Katie was an active member of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) and competed in the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) judging conference in Agricultural Sales and Communications.
