A retired automotive mechanic-turned-first generation farmer, Randy Dugger resides on a small farm in Morristown, Indiana, with his wife, Sherri, and their dog, Adelle, a tribe of farm cats, seven goats, two alpacas, 32 chickens, and thousands of honeybees. At Dugger Family Farm (duggerfamilyfarm.com), the Duggers run a small farm rescue, as well as a farm store, where they sell Indiana-made and sustainably raised products. They also grow their own food and produce specialty jams through their company, Kick Out The Jams.

Randy brings 28 years of experience working at United Parcel Service as a mechanic and Teamster union steward, plus additional years of construction experience, to the farm, where he has restored the 100-year-old farmhouse, constructed animal barns and a greenhouse, and rebuilt several buildings on the couple’s 3.5 acres. The Duggers have applied for a Farmers Market Promotion Program grant to create a mobile food market, for which they will receive word in September of 2017. If awarded this grant, Randy will restore a 1955 Ford step van, turning it into a mobile food market for use in low food access areas and food deserts.

As co-owner of Dugger Family Farm, Randy is a farmer/member of Hoosier Harvest Market, Indiana’s only farmer-owned online food hub. Dugger Family Farm is a registered member of Indiana Farmers Union and Indiana Grown, a farm and food maker membership organization housed under the Indiana State Department of Agriculture.
