WASHINGTON (June 25, 2015) – National Farmers Union (NFU) President Roger Johnson today released the following statement applauding the U.S. Supreme Court decision to uphold tax credits in the Affordable Care Act that make health coverage more affordable for American family farmers, ranchers and rural America:
“NFU applauds today’s Supreme Court decision to uphold a key provision in the Affordable Care Act that makes health coverage affordable for American family farmers and ranchers,” said Johnson. “Rural Americans are disproportionately uninsured compared to urban Americans, and today’s decision not to eliminate tax credits in 34 states is a major step in advancing the affordability of national health coverage for the nation’s rural population.”
National Farmers Union has been working since 1902 to protect and enhance the economic well-being and quality of life for family farmers, ranchers and rural communities through advocating grassroots-driven policy positions adopted by its membership.
